And why require every team to join a conference? Notre Dame, Air Force, and the other independents have every right not to join one, and they should likewise have a chance. Keep it simple: take the top 6 teams, then add the next two conference champions. Let's face it: both LSU and BAMA deserve to be in the running for the national title, and if they both make it to the finals, they'll have earned it! Why have 11 teams make the postseason?
